Warehouses

Warehouse is a building for storing goods. Usually manufacturers, importers, exporters, wholesalers, transport businesses, and customs brokers use warehouses to store goods for a certain period of time. Stored goods include any raw materials, packing materials, spare parts, components, or finished goods associated with agriculture, manufacturing and production. In theory, cheap and plain land spaces are used for storage but for convenience, warehouses can be close to the production sites, or import gates or consumers. For these reasons, warehouses could be placed near airports and seaports.

In Cambodia, the warehouse industry remains underdeveloped, but they are often located in SEZs and dry ports. Such large-scale warehouses may have loading docks to load and unload goods from trucks. However, there are also small-scale warehouses outside SEZs and dry ports. They are often owned by individuals and companies. Generally speaking, there are a number of different types of warehouses including retail warehouses, cool warehouses and cold storage, packing warehouses, railway warehouses, and bond warehouses.
